Marilyn, This is where the DNA project would come in handy. If any of these FRENCH's are related, DNA could help to prove a connection. My theory is that Henry of Mercer Co., KY is related to Group 4 in the French DNA project (which includes a Jacob French b. Germany d. bef. 1788, Berkley, WV; David French b. 1765 d. 1819, Ohio Co., KY; John Peter French d. 1832, Greenville, SC; and Jonathan French b. 1810, Martin Co., IN.). I don't personally know a male descendant of Henry who would qualify for the DNA test--I hope someone is out there and would volunteer. But if you know a descendant of Phillip's and/or Samuel & George Hedges French, it would be interesting to see how they fit into the French DNA project results.
