My grandfather was Thomas E. French' His lineage goes back to the infant, Thomas E. French born in 1776. William French attempted to sail as loyalist out of Long Island to Barbados where he had property and family; when a storm wrecked the ship off New Gretna/Tucherton (Julia changed the story to fit her aspirations for patriotism). Because Thomas E. French was one of the originally founders of the West Jersey colony, he had already contacts down here. Here they stayed until now.
