Lorenzo Dow French may be the same person of that name who was the son of Daniel French and wife Eunice Dunham of Loudoun and Fauquier Co. VA. He is the right age. I have papers from a court case among the heirs of Reuben and George French that give that name as one of the sons of DAniel French. I will have to pull my files and look again. it is the place he settled that is the puzzle for me. I thought he went south. The name comes from a minister that road circuit in Virginia. I have never found evidence that he reached Loudoun Co. which is where his parents were married 14 January 1800. I have been working on this family [the descendants of Hugh French] for about 10 years now and do plan to publish some day. The marriage bond says Eunice was the daughter of Amos Dunham Jr. Margaret Amundson, Walkersville, MD
