Donald, In these days of the anomaly of open friendship of strangers, we all become invisable to those around us. There are very few strangers whom we remember in the onslaught of so many faces on the street, on the highway and on television. Thus, we become a world of empty faces. I, being a person of many years, decided to become more than a face in the maze, and when I am at the grocery, have a pleasant look on my face. As people come towards me I 'see' them, and often smile and say,"Good morning !". Not so long ago, among the vegetables, an older lady came towards me. I engaged her eyes," How are you this morning?' She looked at me with a nose held high, and replied ,"I don't like your face." I caught a glance of my own embarrassed face over the lettuce, and couldn't answer. I looked away , and walked a little faster. I thought of things I could have said back, then I began to feel sorry for her. She was alone among strangers. I hope you needed an editorial ! Dear Julia, A great view of life. I do the same thing and some don't like my face either but I figure that is their problem, not mine. I figure I make more people happy than sad and it definitely is good for me. Carry on!! Have a great day!!
