Barbara, I know of two FRENCH lines in NJ. The oldest is that of Thomas FRENCH who came from England c1660. There is a two volume work on this Thomas which carries the line for a number of generations. See "Descendant of Thomas FRENCH", The author was a FRENCH. I'm away from my data at the moment, but will send more references when I get a chance. The other FRENCH line came to NJ from NE/NY.
