I am trying to find information about William M. French who married Christian McInnis in Dale County, Alabama in the year 1842.They were the parents of James Edward, Jefferson Tillman, and Nancy Jane before they left Dale County to go to Jasper County, Mississippi, where he had relatives. For some reason they stopped near Florala, Alabama where their next child,Angus LaFayette was born January 2, 1853. Later , they traveled to Jasper County, Miss. and in the year 1858 , William M. was ambushed by a notorius gambler. His wife remained in Miss. until her child, Harriet Frances, was born August 19, 1857. Then, they came back to Dale County to be near her family. I would be so grateful for any information about this family. I am a great grandchild of William M. French. I can find nothing about where he was born nor who his parents were.
