Mara? I know you are all wondering what happened to Mara French and the French Family Association. I've been handling all the affairs for my 91-year old mother who has had strokes and seizures for the past year now. For the past month we have had Hospice help out. Currently she is doing a bit better, but her memory is poor and she is bedridden. She has never had an operation or threat of a terminal illness in her life. I've also been holding down a full-time job. I miss genealogy terribly, but I can't get enough time to do a good job researching and putting together the newsletter. I would like to extend the membership dues for the year 2000 to include membership for the year 2001. NOTE: Nothing was published in 2000. I'll keep you informed as to when I'm able to do more. Thank you for your continued interest in the French family. Mara French French Family Association 521 River View Drive San Jose, CA 95111 The French Family Association (FFA) was founded in 1984 by four individuals interested in promoting the French surname. Volunteers have compiled nearly 200 charts on different French lines in the U.S., many of them going back to emigration from England. The FFA publishes a quarterly newsletter on its findings and on articles of interest. It also includes member queries. The FFA has a registered web domain site, but currently it is not yet ready for publication.
