Found this in a local newspaper and thought it might be of interest to someone. James L. French, 69, of Terre Haute, IN died at 11:05 a.m. Friday, Nov. 24, 2000, in Paragould, Ark. He was a retired nurse from Union Hospital. He was born Oct. 13, 1931, in Cory to Harlan H. French and Sabina Kester French. Survivors include his mother of Cory; one son, Stephen Wayne French of Florida; five daughters, Brenda Kay Traxler of Arkansas, Cynthia Liebster, Shari Johnson, Anita Foos and Teresa Gayhurt, all of Ohio; one brother and sister-in-law, Ray and Betty French of Salem, W.Va.; one sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Leroy Royer of Cory; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and one foster son, Bill Marts Jr. of Rosedale. He was preceded in death by his father. He was a graduate of Alexian Brothers Hospital in Chicago, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, past regional director of National Quality Assurance Professionals, and past state president of Nurses Quality Assurance Professionals. Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in DeBaun Springhill Chapel, with the Revs. Martin Day and Ray French officiating. Burial is in Oak Hill Cemetery.
