Mason was a Rev soldier and was at Valley Forge. He was the son of John French and Margaret Burgess. John died testate in Fauquier Co. 1806. He was the son of Mason French and Catherine Ellis [the wodow Bennett]. Mason was the son of Hugh French who immigrated to Maryland in 1663 and later came to Virginia where he died testate in 1701.
