    3. There are so many French's with the same names it gets crazy. I've checked down my descendancy chart starting with Noah French, Sr. b. 1754, first spouse Mary Rolfe, they had five children, and second wife (my side) Johanna Campbell b. 1760. They had seven, mine descending from their second child, John b. 1789 who m. Abigail Freeman. John and Abigail had a son John b. 1815 m Charlotte. Their third child was William Daniel French b. 1848. His first wife was Ella Leora Misner and they had a son named John. It was this John when his mother changed his name (I don't believe legally) to Reid when he divorced her and married Sophia Anne Martin b. 1863 in Quorndon, Leichester, ENgland. It was just from this one son, John that the name changed to Reid with all of the descendants keeping that name to this day. The other family (William and Sophia) had five children and many descendants that go by French. You probably don't fit in here, but keep looking, as I've done, you just never know. I don't think these are your Frenches. Linda Kay Miki Hobson wrote: > > Very interesting. Maybe that's why I can't find the French ancestors > I'm looking for.
