Harlan S. French >> The reason that I haven't answered this query is because, Mara French, the head of the French Family Association is a member of this list, and I was waiting for her to answer. She has had many personal problems in the past year, and hasn't been able to devote any time to her Genealogy pursuits. Her mother is gravely ill, and Mara has been caring for her in addition to her work and other of life's duties. She has asked that we all be patient and hopes that she will be able to get back to the FFA soon. I hesitate to speak for her, but can't leave the questions hanging. For those who do not know, the FFA has been around for about 15 years, and before the Internet, was the only means of connecting all the French lines. Mara produced a newsletter four times a year, that included queries, stories, pictures, Charts, and the names, addresses, and the French line of all members. Also, one could order the entire chart from which they were descended, after they had determined the Chart #. Mara, was very devoted to the FFA, and made several trips each year for the purpose of research, and to meet her many subscribers. She paid a visit to me from her home in CA to mine in New Orleans a couple of years ago, and went to the yearly French reunion in Beaumont, TX, and on to MS and AL. There are some people on the Internet who have been placed in charge of the FFA charts from which they descend, and they will mail you the chart if you request it, but I do not have that information. I am in charge of Chart #184, which is the Samuel French of Anson Co., NC c. 1748>Rutherford, NC>Wilkes, GA>Montgomery, TN. My French line is available on my Website at: members.aol.com/juliafwood/mypage Click on the Alphabetic Index, letter "F", then scroll to the Frenches. I should have my French Chart listed separately, but haven't found the time to do that. I will put that on my list of things to do. Have a good day. Julia French Wood Listowner
