I am looking for Aaron French, the father of Elizabeth French who born in Port Jervis, Orange, NY in 1798. She was baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church as were her mothers family and the family of her future husband, William Schoonover. They were married in Wayne Count, PA a short boat trip from Port Jervis. Port Jervis is within walking distance of Sussex County, NJ and within swimming distance of Pike County, PA. Aaron and his family moved to Wayne County PA before the 1820 Census. I have no record of Aaron prior to 1798. In addition to the local counties mentioned above, were two overland routes to the Deleware river, one from Kingston on the Hudson, via Minisink and the other is through northern NJ through Bergen, Passaic, Morris, to Sussex County. He may have been born in any of these places. Does anybody know of an Aaron French that would fit this description? Frank
