Gail, My French family are Cherokee also, Mary T French, b. 1823 in Limestone Co. Alabama, parents b. father in NC, mother in SC, married John Murphy Wood in Limestone County AL. In 1844, then went to Marble Falls, Texas . One woman who is a Creek-Cherokee French from Oklahoma and I have coresponded but we haven't found the link.
