Thelma, My John Wood married Mary T French in Limestone County, Alabama in 1844, They were about 20 at the time. John Wood's parents were born in North Carolina, Mary's in North Carolina and South Carolina. My Grandmother, Rachel Elvira Russell, told me that Mary was Indian, which sounds right since Limestone County was an Indian Territory at the time she and John were born. After marriage, they went to Marble Falls Texas, where John became a Texas Ranger Capt.. They are buried there.
