There are four or more Jeremiah Frenchs: (1) Jeremiah b 1712, Eng, d NY, his father is Samuel the Joiner Chart #11 (2) Jeremiah b 1759, Chart # 179, his father is unknown (see conjecture EIGHT) (3) Jeremiah b 1764, CT, his father is Thomas b 1726, CT, his father is Samuel the Joiner (4) Jeremiah b 1838, NY, his father is Samuel b 1793. Samuel is Charlie French's (Test #F13919) ggrandfather. Samuel the joiner had at least six male children: Samuel b 1710, Jeremiah b 1712, John b 1720, Jonathan b 1722, Thomas b 1726 and Joseph b 1730; any of whom could have produced male children that fathered Charlie's Samuel. I don't have Chart #11, so, Charlie, I Googled a few of the above names. What I found (unproven source) and it in no way suggests eliminating any other sibling from the search; is that Thomas b 1726 had at least four sons: David b ~1753, Peter Price b 1762, Jeremiah b 1764 and Isaac b 1770 - each, a possible father for Samuel b 1793. Again, each son is a possible father of your Samuel b 1793; but Peter Price is an exceptional candidate.... Peter died 1841, Wells, Bradford, PA - JUST A FEW MILES FROM WAVERLY, NY ---- IN YOUR BACK YARD. Peter may have had more kids, but one is, Hiram b 2mar1797, Hampton, Washington, NY. Mara, conjecture EIGHT: Jeremiah b 1759, Chart 179, is probably the son of Samuel b 1710, Jeremiah b 1712, John b 1720, Jonathan b 1722, Thomas b 1726 or Joseph b 1730. With just a little more work, we may be able to connect Charlie, Chart 179 and Chart 11 with Jacob of Assington. The DNA results from Jim and Charlie would corroborate the above connection if we can find and prove it. Umm... Hi Scott, You're welcome. I still have about 10 more English charts to do. I'm just separating various families by the parishes where they were baptized, but that doesn't mean they don't connect -- hopefully someone has more news and can help all of us. Your question below is exactly what I'm trying to prevent happening. Since this is a letter chart, these Frenches DID NOT go to America. Charts #2 and #EA are in no way the same family. Therefore, neither is Chart #3. You'll see on Chart #EA that William (C) (born 1553) is NOT the same William as Chart #E2 (A) born 1580. I went by baptismal records that showed who the parents were and by wills. Please don't lump all these people together. These charts separate them. Just remember that any chart that is connected to you does not have double letters, like EA or EB because those Frenches never came to America. Sort of difficult to explain but I hope you understand. I did the research on those Frenches so that we could separate the immigrants from the non-immigrants. Hi Frenches, I've completed Chart E2 which is the English ancestry of Chart 2, William French of Billerica, MA. Although this information may be old news, I have it very well documented in the bibliography so we can always refer to it if other information turns up. My brick wall is trying to trace my gggrandfather, Samuel French. Census reports from Town of Chemung, Chemung County, NY 1840 1850 1860 list him as born in Mass in 1793. The 1855 report lists Boston, Ma. His son William born in 1821 is listed as born on Long Island. I think three children were born in that area. In 1830 Samuel purchased land in Chemung county. The deed says he was from New York City. He had four more children in Chemung Country. His youngest was Jerimiah, my ggrandfather born in 1838. Samuel died in 1861. His wife was Francis Scott born in 1801 in Ireland. I need help in my next move. Charlie French
