Hi Bryan. I also have a Jean Nicolle I'm researching but she was born in 1926 as Jean Marie Caronia in New York City. My Nicolle's, it seems, are originally from Rouen, France. The furthest I've gotten is a William Lionel Nicolle who was born in 1881 in Japan. His father was working there at the time. I believe Charles Jules Henri Nicolle who won the Nobel Prize for Medicine in 1928 is an uncle but I'm still researching. Thanks for your information. I'll keep an eye out for your Nicolle's. Deb Nicolle
I'd love to see what you have. I am not able to load all seven pages ( I can't even load all of the second). I believe my Ann Bolds is the same person as your Ann Bowles. I have Ann married to Thomas FRENCH. I was able to see a Leo French listed in your page, again we seem to have the same person married to different spouses. As far a documenting my sources, all I have is an elderly Aunt thats been working on our tree for 30 years. Can you help me out here? I'd really like to reunite my French men with their rightful spouses. chas3d@webtv.net wrote: > i am not that person whom you lost in your computer > > ...but...there is a cousin french who married a cousin priscilla bowles > in my tree, too. and we have at least one cousin named johnson. > > Bolds is a variant of our bowles, for sure. > > open up the URL chashomeforfun below if you want to see some > mcbride/french combinations...a few...(it loads slowly....page from page > to next page t see all seven pages. ) I have more. write me back if > you want em. > > always, all ways, sincerely yours, > charles r schefer III > > homepage/storage= > http://COMMUNITY.webtv.net/chas3d/chashomeforfun > > bshome= > http://home.talkcity.com/emoticonblvd/chas3/ > http://community.webtv.net/chas3d/chashomeforfun > > ------------------------------------------------------------------------ > > Subject: [KY] JOHNSON/BOLDS/FRENCH > Resent-Date: Sun, 6 Feb 2000 13:59:24 -0800 > Resent-From: KENTUCKY-L@rootsweb.com > Date: Sun, 06 Feb 2000 17:02:26 -0500 > From: Laurie Ronan <jronan@bellsouth.net> > To: KENTUCKY-L@rootsweb.com > > I'm in the middle of replacing my computer and managed to lose a post > from someone asking about, I believe "Johnson" who was believed to be > married to Ann/Anna Bolds. Hi Joyce, I have Connecticut Frenches too. Do any of yours include an Edwin H. French family ca. 1837-1860? Linda
Hi All I must first thank everybody for being so kind in emailing me on this mater. I should have not written to this list about this mater but gone to the list manger instead. I think there are so many helpful people on this list, and I want to (and I am sure everybody else) wants to put this down to a bad experience and get on with our research. Please consider the mater closed now. Thanks for reading this. I wish everybody good luck in there research. Claire Grant
I thank you for sending the info on the cenuse an shareing with me. Berniece
I'm in the middle of replacing my computer and managed to lose a post from someone asking about, I believe "Johnson" who was believed to be married to Ann/Anna Bolds. He/she was also researching a number of names in my tree. Among them was FRENCH. I would like to hear from this person, as I have Ann married into my FRENCH family. The interesting thing, is I just received an obituary for my Charles W. French, who was living with a JOHNSON at the time of his death. Please contact me.
Thanks Claire for the new information. It is great that some people are willing to share. Don't let anyone discourage you from sharing information. Jeff
Claire, I agree with all the others. You did nothing wrong - in fact, you may have helped someone crack that proverbial brick wall. Claire, I agree with Toni here. But there are some really nasty folks on this list. I remember back when I first posted my info last year, some cousin if you would posted something very negative to me about searching. Seems he thought I needed to go to the library and do research! It was quite awhile before I posted again. But hey, there are lots of mean French's around and I just have considered him one of them. Mind you I was told this list was for genealogy research and not friendships!
