Hello, I have full blown subscriptions to both Genealogy.com and Ancestry.com. Genealogy.com recently had a wonderful offer and seemed to have a lot of new stuff. I don't know why I always come back to Ancestry tho, besides ease of use. Yes, I use Heritage Quest for free through my library card also, although I have been told some libraries charge a small fee, but well worth it. Heritage Quests census records are a lot more clear than Ancestry but HQ doesn't have the soundex option or just using a first name like Ancestry. I found a lot of info lurking through their books and periodicals. Hi Julia, just go to Ancestry and below it shows Family & Local History New. But you will have to actually add it on to your subscription first. Click on it and type in like Robert French in the name boxes and New Jersey in the keywords box as an example and it will give you all this listings of scanned books in their entirety, then pick a book and it will show at the top all the page numbers your Robert French or who ever is located on. You can click each page number. I was able to print just the page, etc. It is new that I added to my already yearly subscription. I think it is 80 bucks a year. You have to add it. They do let you try it out too but it will always be updated with lots of out of print books. I think you can subscribe independently to it too, not sure. Heritage Quest was not user friendly and very slow, for me and could not make it work right on Genealogy.com which I also have full subscriptions to also but MyFamily.com bought both Ancestry and Genealogy so they are all one company including Rootsweb. I really like the improvements with Ancestry.com the best. I have had it for 3 years I think. I have DSL and Windows XP and really like Family Tree Maker 11 and added the time lines, etc., so things are easy to use for me but I have no idea how others are affected by it. What were the common routes/trails in use from the NJ area to the area on the SC/NC border where our FRENCH's are found prior to the Revolutionary War? Was it via river & land through PA or VA? Did they sail down -landing on the SC coast before moving inland? Or maybe down to Onslow County, NC or maybe into Perquimans/Pasquotank counties NC just below the VA border? There was a fairly large Quaker group living in this area 1600-1700 timeframe. Does anyone know URL's that would show the migration trails?

The person stating that reference was only identifing Thomas of Burlington as the same Thomas who was in England. I can't make copies of this book as to lay it flat would to it harm. This edition of the original that was written in 1650 & 1689 was printed in 1753.
