I'm revealing that I know a lot less about this than I thought. When I go to the left side where Program Files are listed, I don't find the documents I want to upload and so I can't upload them. I have just edited those documents with Kompozer, but they don't appear. I don't even see Kompozer in that list. My guess is that they are hidden behind some other content and perhaps I need to double-click on something to open them. I would appreciate any help to calm my floundering around. Many thanks. Do you have another email address you might have used when you registered your site? If you used another email address, and you can no longer receive mail at that address, you will need to write to annerootsweb@gmail.com to get your account registration updated. However, Anne has very limited availability this week, so it may be a while before you hear back from her. What am I doing wrong? > > I would copy the screen but screenshot doesn't work for me. > > > Hi Neil, With Filezilla, right clicking on the right hand pane is used for downloading from your site's host side (or deleting files, etc. on the host side). To upload, you need to right click on the left hand pane which represents your local copy of your site's files. Just to confuse the issue, I think that (but personally avoid) double-clicking on a file on either side will initiate the appropriate upload or download action. I avoid doing that because I feel like I am more in control of what is happening using the right click technique. Any time you upload or download, you really want to be thinking carefully about what you are about to do. In either case, assuming that some form of the target file already exists, you are going to overwrite it with the contents of the source file. Source and target change roles depending on whether you right click on the left or right hand pane. Both can be useful, but I find that I right click on and upload from the left hand pane very much more than I ever download. Neil, if you have filled out the settings as I suggested at https://sites.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/publishing-your-sites.html One the left hand pane you should see the files/folders that make up your site on your computer. On the right hand pane you should see the files on the RW servers. The file/folder names should match. I work with Expression Web open where I edit and Filezilla open so I can transfer files. If you open Site Manage and look at the advanced tab, you should be able to browse to the location on YOUR computer where your local site is. -----Original Message----- From: Neil Boyer [mailto:naboyer@comcast.net] Sent: Monday, August 6, 2018 3:55 PM To: freepages-help@rootsweb.com Subject: [FreeHelp]Re: FREEPAGES-HELP Digest, Vol 13, Issue 161 Filezilla Issues I'm revealing that I know a lot less about this than I thought.
