I am trying to move programs I had there to freepages. And move all this type stuff out of my Homepages to freepages. So I have room for my photos on homepages. I got connected and uploaded with wsftp and started trying to get one program to work A marriage index program, a view actual record image program. I uploaded only one image pg501.jpg, right now testing! Modified program thought it would work but doesn't! Will someone look at the program and tell me why the the first line embedded href 501 link won't work at this location. Once I get it working I can get the others working, and upload the other images and my other files and programs! Here is the image link! http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kettletree/BKC/pg501.jpg Here is the program. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kettletree/BKC/JCI_Marriage_index_bkc.html As you can see my programming skills are limited basically simple cut and paste and trial and error! The program formatting is a mess and other things, I don't know how to do but it worked, once and one could use it, just not pretty, and people liked it! I get this list in digest mode, haven't even gotten my first digest! Any help appreciated Thanks Lonnie fink [email protected] *****Lonnie, I also tried to get my huge site/"PWPs" off of comcast.net, (Xfinity]. All pwps will be DELETED on Oct. 8, 2015.I'd built mine w/ their original "Editor" back in 2008.  From your 2012 date, on your freepage, might I assume you'd built your comcast.net/ pwps using what was then known as "splash"?  (Chose a Template from "splash", and used the the then new 'editor') I hadn't.  My pwp/site was built w/ the original 'editor'; it would have been like building an entire new site from scratch.  I left my site up as built; it became "read only".  I didn't mind because at least the site was there.  (I never dreamed Comcast.net would delete our pwp/sites!)  I can still "sign in", but I now only see a few 'files', which are images.  Comcast.net isn't providing any way to DOWNLOAD our sites (pwps); never had, to my knowledge.  Because I didn't rebuild using "splash" I can't use the ftp Comcast suggests downloading/using to transfer my files.  https://publish.comcast.net/splash/# | Effective October 8, 2015, the Personal Web Page service (feature of XFINITY Internet) will no longer be available. Please retrieve all content currently saved on your site before October 8, 2015 to avoid permanently losing your files and information.  Customers who have activated this feature, please check your email for a special offer. | | | (btw, I didn't get any email for the "special offer", did you?)  Like you, I would have to copy & paste.  And, again, since I didn't build w/ 'splash',  I have a different Template, a BLACK background, and colored fonts (i.e., red and yellow). The copy/paste is a nightmare. I like my site/pwp, as is, and hate to let it get deleted, but I'm not finding any solution.    I think you might be able to save yours, but there are only a few Xfinity/Comcast Forums addressing this issue.  Mostly, people are directed to where you already are.  There aren't any specifics to help you move your PWPs.  More so, people are just angry. 1-800-COMCAST tech staff don't even know what paying subscribers are talking about!  The PWPs were only offered to people who knew about them and had "signed up" (mostly, years ago).  You might or might not know about the Forums "Comcast Help & Support Community".  If not, you will have to SIGN-IN w/ your comcast.net User name and PW. THEN, create ANOTHER User name & PW to even READ the forums, and post your questions here:  http://forums.xfinity.com/t5/notificationfeed/page [Note: I'm providing the above info for those on this list who might not know what's going on with Comcast.net PWPs. Hopefully, others here can help Lonnie way more than I can.]  Lonnie, don't worry, you will be getting [sometimes massive] "Digests" from FreeHelp!  The list just seems quiet at the moment. I get "Individual emails", and noticed that you are a "newby".  I've been a Freepages user since before 2008, and still consider myself as a "Newby"!  The folks here are wonderful, will help you; and might end up suggesting other (better) ways of getting your data on your Freepage.  And, yes, some posts will seem like they are written in 'another language'.  [HTML & CSS coding... and, way more.]  Here's my measly input, for what I'm seeing w/ your Freepage; a "Test", if you will: 1. I took a look at both links you've given, [using Chrome as my browser].2. BOTH links, though clearly different, directed me to the SAME page.  ["getting href links to work"] :   [JCI Marriage Index by Grooms]http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kettletree/BKC/JCI_Marriage_index_bkc.html 3. I also noticed you have at least one (what I'll refer to as a 'stray' line), which is rendering as an "almost hyperlink".  Note the ahttp:// as copied below: mary edna ahttp://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~kettletree/BKC/pgor 565 "565 "   You cannot have an "a", (or anything else) before any "http".   [Here, I'm not referring to "anything else" in the context of using HTML and/or CSS code, which would have certain 'symbols' when inserting a hyperlink "href command"; that's something others here can help with] 4. You can do it!  An excellent, free tutorial and on-line book, by Pat Geary (from this list) is VERY helpful:    http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gearyfamily/getting-started-with-freepages.html Best of Luck!  You are inspiring me to get back to re-building my Freepage too!Kathie Buchanan   [Yes!  Two 'pros' are now answering you! not me:]
