    3. I am also chiming in about Windows 10. I was using Win 7 on a desktop & laptop, and very happy with it, although, truthfully, I probably would have still been using XP if my motherboard hadn't fried in my previous computer a couple of years ago and I had to buy a new computer, and so I kept totally ignoring those reminders that my Win 10 was waiting to be uploaded. I dreaded doing that because I also have a few older programs that I was very concerned about, Frontpage 2003 & PAF, in particular, and frankly, I'm not that great at tech except that I know how to run my computer and the programs I use. I was constantly reading up about experiences that others were having after making the switch to Win 10, and I was going to hold off in making that decision for my own. But I started noticing in the last couple of months that some of programs were not functioning properly, I use the desktop version of Windows Live and it wasn't always opening, and my good old FP 2003 was not connecting and often was forcibly being closed. I have never had any problems with those before, not in all of the years I've used them, and my suspicion is that something being done in the Win 7 updates, was causing it. Eventually, I said what the heck, and went ahead and uploaded Win 10 to my laptop which didn't have as many files as the desktop but does have FP, and it ran like a dream, I had no problems whatsoever. The next day I added it to my desktop, and everything is working fine, all of the recent problems I had were cleared up, I get instant connectivity for all of my programs, and it even has my Windows Media Player, which I had heard was not going to be a part of the Win 10, but I've had absolutely no problems whatsover. About the only thing that was different for me, was getting used to setting the aps for the programs and features that I use but once I learned where the Settings are, I'm fine. I switched to Windows 10 and am well pleased with its performance. Guess I should say that I am a long time Microsoft user. It is a personal preference. When I downloaded Windows 10 I was a little concerned that some of my other old programs would not work anymore. Well, great joy, I installed FrontPage 2003 and it still works as good as it always did. I still use Family Tree maker 2006. It too works well. I have a few other old programs installed and am using them without any trouble. Like I said, it is a personal choice. 3. I don't know how many have read the EULA when installing Windows. If you haven't, you do not "own" the Windows operating system that is on your computer. Microsoft remains the "owner". You simply have a license to use it. I don't know if they would, or say they would, but it is possible that they could send down a "kill" signal that would completely shut down your Windows.I don't know if it's ever happened, or will happen. Just something to think about.
