With my association with UMassD, MIT, WHOI and acronyms in general, I received an email with a link to an article published by PRI in which a couple of the founders of the Internet ponder its future now it has turned 25. http://tinyurl.com/hhdmoau Now, pondering or forecasting the future gives the grey matter a bit of a work-out, but is rarely proved to be right. Food for thought! In case you are wondering; University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and Public Radio International are all cases where acronyms come into their own. ;-) Foot Note: Tim Berners-Lee is credited with inventing the World Wide Web in 1989/90.
