I am unsure what your point is. Surely it's each to his/her own! I use Freefind on my website for site search only and for my personal use I use Google. Freefind allows users to choose - them or us! I like Freefind because of its ease of use for my website, without the technicalities (and they are quite demanding) of Google Webmaster. B

I'm unsure why you are asking about "the point", when the person asked about the differences between them. So I gave a comparison of two "on site search engines" for use on websites. > Surely it's each to his/her own! No one but you thinks "choice" is an issue. That was not the point of the comparisons-- except to give info so the person could choose one (or use both). Giving comparisons between two services is no reason to become attacking. Surely, there is no cause for your reaction (with exclamation points!) to reading a simple comparison list? > I use Freefind on my website for site search only and for my personal use > I use Google. We were discussing use of different on-site search boxes for personal websites and their features/benefits. Actually, Google Webmaster Tools is NOT "demanding". It simply means learning just how bots actually "see" a webpage and links, just like learning how bots view pages from taking a deeper look into Freefind results (or Pico when I first started). I've learned a lot-- from both FF and G. 2016 and sadly, nothing much changes about how people choose to respond to list mail. You can always Ignore and delete any message rather than being attacking a list member. Have a nice year. Judy
