Pat and Ralph - I understand what you're saying about the limitations of mobile devices to do justice to the design elements of larger screens. However, I, and probably many others, derive pleasure from creating attractive backgrounds, etc, whether or not they are accommodated on smaller devices. Frankly, I don't really care, as the majority of people looking at sites such as ours will probably be using laptops/tablets rather than mobile phones anyway. I for one have no intention of even trying to make my sites "mobile friendly", and judging by their position in the Google listings (at the top) it hasn't done them any harm!
