You don't seem to have any faded or battered ones at all. Competent graphics editing software is your friend. In my other life, I was a free-lance photographer with my own (film) dark room. Graphics programs such as Paint Shop Pro or Photo Shop do the same retouching digitally that I use to do with film processing, print manipulation, and dyes. Increase contrast to make an image appear sharper. Adjust the histogram curve to retain detail in highlights and dark areas. Use the cloning tool to paint out cracks and scratches. You may want to use masks to adjust different areas of an image in different ways. Whatever software you use, play with all the tools in that program to learn what effect each has, and ALWAYS work on a COPY of the image, not the original. Pat
