I prefer to link to the individual rather than the family. While I do on occasion merge records, they are NOT usually the older individuals to whom I am linking. I also tend to link to the register report for an individual so the viewer gets everything at a quick glance. They then can choose to investigate further. If the record number changes each time you generate a new gedcom, it would be almost impossible to maintain the links. pat Pat Geary Working With Rootsweb FreePages Accounts EBook (free) http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~gearyfamily/rootsweb-freepages-ebook.html

If a genealogy program changes the record (ID) number each time a new GEDCOM is generated, instead of linking to individuals, one could offer a search box instead, as I have at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~pasher/ The INPUT VALUE= is coded to only search my WC database. Change that to the name of your WC database. Pat Asher
Dear Pat A, What a Photo Album! Your photographs are magnificent. They are so clear, how did you get them like that? You don't seem to have any faded or battered ones at all. Kind Regards, Jill
Thanks Pat, I have just found your page on using graphics editing software http://freepages.computers.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~pasher/scanning.htm Some of the tools I find quite baffling, but I really must have another concentrated effort. Hi Pat G, As a past user of PAF I stopped using it as although I liked it, the program created some odd text. I wondered if you edited your text at all, as it looks absolutely great to me. My web pages created by PAF say things such as: Edward was employed as in Engine Driver. He joined religion in Baptist. I gave it up as it seemed to cause more problems than I thought it worth, some years ago. Kind Regards, Jill
