After studying my CSS book and fooling around with the table properties, I was able to get the z-index the overlay the table on top of the page border, when the screen size is too small to display the entire table. Naturally, this caused another problem in IE, not as serious, but . . . Above the table the page border expands to the same size as the table -- it wouldn't be so bad, but it leaves the menu sort of hanging there without a righthand border. If this can't be fixed, I can live with it, but if anyone has suggestions, I would really appreciate them.
