    3. Hi. Thank you very much for your prompt response to my query. The URL to my site is in my signature line at the bottom of my emails, but here it is again. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jeanmccarthy36/ All my old pages are still OK but it is the new pages that I have been working on recently that has got the problem. I am transcribing the 1851 Census index for Liverpool for Irish born people. The problem is with the pages beginning with the surnames 'G' and I am now working on surnames beginning with 'H'. This marathon task has been going on for five years now with still a long way to go. It does not really matter about the colour of the background as long as people can search for their ancestors. It is just that up until now, I have kept all the pages of this very large site uniform . I would dearly love to learn CSS but I am a bit nervous about it as I could not face re-doing all of my site all over again, as it would take years to do. I probably will not live long enough to finish the 1851 census index as it is! (Grin) Very many thanks once again for your advice. Kind Regards. Starting with the - 1851 Liverpool/1851_g_h_i/1851_gallagher.htm - page, you have corrupted the <body> tag, and on this an subsequent pages you need to remove the current tag and contents and replace with:- <bodystylesrc="../../famgen.html" background="../../images/main_bg.gif" bgcolor="#FFFFC0" text="#800000"> Hope that helps.
