One of the things they don't like you to upload is EXE files. Files that are accepted are files ending in HTM, JPG, PDF, TXT, RTF, and probably more. But skip EXE and ZIP. UPPER or lower case for these files is OK. ----- Original Message ----- From: freepages-help-request@rootsweb.com To: freepages-help@rootsweb.com Sent: Monday, September 05, 2011 00:00 Subject: FREEPAGES-HELP Digest, Vol 6, Issue 153 When replying to a digest message, quote only the specific message to which you are replying, removing the rest of the digest from your reply. Is that what you mean or are you getting an error when uploading? Others such as the two Pats here will advise you better. What you can do easily is to send your gedcoms to World Connect http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ and allow these to be downloaded. You can link your website to the link on World Connect. See my website as an example. It is easier to think in terms of what is allowed. Freepages web space must be used for publicly accessible materials that can be displayed as or on a web page (viewed in a browser), i.e. html and associated files such as css, graphics/image files such as jpg, gif, png. You may also upload PDF files. Most other files types are not allowed. You may not upload executables, scripts such as .cgi, asp, php, etc., ZIP files, MP3 files, .ged files, or use the space for storage. Video files and huge image files are also prohibited.
