    1. Re: [FreeHelp] Why don't search engines find my rootsweb pages?
    2. Spiders don't crawl directories, they just follow links. Is there a page that links to this page? Your history index page is searchable. http://freepages.history.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tomerbusby/ But you don't have an index page in the genealogy directory. I'd suggest submitting the page: https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/submit-url/ -----Original Message----- Date: Wed, 14 Sep 2011 19:21:49 -0700 From: Janice T <JLT250@att.net> Subject: [FreeHelp] Why don't search engines find my rootsweb pages? To: <freepages-help@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <CA96AF4D.E1EA%JLT250@att.net> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" In February, 2011, I created a freepages rootsweb page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tomerbusby/GenealogyPages/ Busby_Historical_Pages.html I would like for search engines to find these pages so I can share the photos and the people's names relating to this. However, when I type in keywords that are unique to my page, it never appears in the search. How do I get my keywords into the source or, how do I get search engines to find my pages so I can share them? -- Janice T JLT250@att.net
