    3.  1. Why don't search engines find my rootsweb pages? (Janice T) Janice T, Clicking your link in the e-mail; I get one attractive page with 2 photos.... an upper header says: Busby Historical Pages [to the L.H. -and- R.H.] 70th infantry. Trying to read your address in the address bar.... I get this message: " this page has not set a title...". I can only tell you my observations; perhaps these will help others 'who know'. philip ________________________________ From: "freepages-help-request@rootsweb.com" <freepages-help-request@rootsweb.com> To: freepages-help@rootsweb.com Sent: Thu, September 15, 2011 2:00:27 AM Subject: FREEPAGES-HELP Digest, Vol 6, Issue 155 When replying to a digest message, quote only the specific message to which you are replying, removing the rest of the digest from your reply. To: <freepages-help@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <CA96AF4D.E1EA%JLT250@att.net> Content-Type: text/plain;    charset="US-ASCII" In February, 2011, I created a freepages rootsweb page at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~tomerbusby/GenealogyPages/ Busby_Historical_Pages.html I would like for search engines to find these pages so I can share the photos and the people's names relating to this. However, when I type in keywords that are unique to my page, it never appears in the search. How do I get my keywords into the source or, how do I get search engines to find my pages so I can share them? -- Janice T JLT250@att.net ------------------------------ Message: 2 Date: Wed, 14 Sep 2011 21:41:08 -0500 From: lrlaskey <lrlaskey@gmail.com> Subject: Re: [FreeHelp] Why don't search engines find my rootsweb     pages? I tried to view your slide show, which I did, but I got an error message stating I should use either a Mac or Windows OS. This happen once and the second time the message did not show up. I use Linux OS with Opera, as well as other browsers. I will have to view it in another browser to see if any features are missing. I don't know if you are aware of this issue so I thought I would let you know. If not, you might want to test it and any future additions in multiple browsers. Other wise the site is clean, open and attractive.
