    3. Pat, I was thinking along the same lines (maybe it was the length of the tree) and did a similar test. https://homepages.rootsweb.com/~pasher/education/ which redirects to https://sites.rootsweb.com/~pasher/education/ works while https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~pasher/misc/dance/ does not. There appears to be a different set of rules for Freepages URLs. And Judy, you were indeed right. I just could not imagine such an illogical configuration. I have copied Anne on this and hope she can supply an explanation and correction. Pat A. Following Colin's discussion, I changed the folder's name to: <https://freepages.rootsweb.com/~mdtmgug/misc/education_old/> and all the pages appeared. 3. If the output file is a PDF you can probably go to a company that prints architectural / engineering blueprints. They can typically take a thumb drive / flash drive and download the file to their digital printers and print out something 30 to 40 inches wide by any length as their paper is on a large roll. Check for local businesses in your area. -----Original Message----- From: Margot Woodrough <margo4it@tampabay.rr.com> Sent: Sunday, November 25, 2018 3:56 PM To: freepages-help@rootsweb.com Subject: [FreeHelp]How to print large chart from TMG Can someone tell me where they get big charts printed that are generated by TMG? 3. A ban on "dance" strikes me as rather extraordinary. I wonder what other words that are potentially valid genealogical or historical references might be "forbidden" or "reserved." I hope Anne takes note of your results and reviews any ban list that is in place. 3. Colin, I suggested the same yesterday, and have just created a similar link, i.e. <!--freepages.rootsweb.com/~bristowe/genealogy/test/dance/brooksbank-obits-2a.png--> <http://freepages.rootsweb.com/%7Ebristowe/genealogy/test/dance/brooksbank-obits-2a.png> error code: 403 (forbidden request), linked from page(s): and got the same response. The dance directory name was then changed to danc- i.e. http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~bristowe/genealogy/test/danc-/brooksbank-obits-2a.png <http://freepages.rootsweb.com/%7Ebristowe/genealogy/test/dance/brooksbank-obits-2a.png> and works as expected. It would certainly appear that RW are running a list of "forbidden" words; or they might have adopted a PC expression of "reserved" words! Barry

    3. I have to come to the conclusion that Rootsweb have some objection to a folder named dance. I have another smaller tree which has the same structure as my main tree at http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/ftweb/ This smaller tree has not been updated since 2016. In this smaller tree I have a family called Dancer. This tree includes this page http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/brandling/dancer/gareth%20b/index.htm I can access this page. NB folder name is dancer. Please note I am changing the folder names on the Rootsweb server - not on my local machine. When I login with my FTP program and change the name of the dancer folder to dancex I should be able to access the page http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/brandling/dancex/gareth%20b/index.htm and I can. NB folder name is dancex. When I change the name of the folder from dancex to dance I should be able to access the page http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/brandling/dance/gareth%20b/index.htm I can't!. I get the same 403 error page. NB folder name is dance. I change the name of the folder from dance to dancer. That is, put things back as they were originally. Now I should be able to access the page http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/brandling/dancer/gareth%20b/index.htm Again I can. NB folder name is dancer. Colin Bye

    3. Eric, here is the link for setting up FIlezilla which you will need to use to publish your site. https://sites.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/publishing-your-sites.html The same setting should work if you elect to use a different 3rd party ftp program. None of the web editors will publish with the exception of the very newest version of Dreamweaver. 3. Thanks to everyone who made suggestions or ran tests. The tests generally confirm what I see - that attempts to access http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/ftweb/dance/horace/index.htm results in forbidden request - Error 403. To restate the problem. The permissions on the dance folder are the same as all the other folders in the ftweb folder. The permissions on the contents of the dance folder are the same as the other subfolders of the ftweb folder. If I change the name of the dance folder to dancex I can then access its contents. I have created a copy of the dance folder - dance.old. The permissions are all the same as the dance folder. I can access http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~cbye/genealogy/ftweb/dance.old/horace/index.htm and all the internal links from this page work. I've check this with xenu. I have checked the folders ftweb and above there doesn't seem to be .htaccess file in any of them. Unless someone has another suggestion, I'm left with the conclusion that the problem lies with Rootsweb. Colin Bye

Colin, Take a look at this non-working url: ( https://useraccount.rootsweb.com/websites/reportInappropriateWebsite?url=/~cbye/genealogy/ftweb/lee/elizabeth%20ann/index.htm ) (2 lines) And did you use "Report Inappropriate Material" as meta Title? If yes, you might use something more descriptive. If no, could this be a clue about the problem?? I'm seeing that title a lot in Xenu. Also note, if you use hyphen or underscore in filenames, you will get rid of " %20 " in URLs. Judy

This needs fixing. Usual suspects: a missing index.html or Overview.html, or a missing ACL. Also could mean A 403 Forbidden error means that you do not have permission to view the requested file or resource. While sometimes this is intentional, other times it is due to misconfigured permissions. The top reasons for this error are permissions or .htaccess error. Ron
