    3. Friends. Is there a free WYSIWYG editor connected to Free-pages site?? If not can some one please advise me as to finding a good free one on line to download?? Appreciate any advice at this point as I have forgotten almost everything I used to have down pat. I have several web pages on-line at free pages that I constructed in Composer that was connected to my Netscape program. I see that it is no longer available. Thanks in advance for any help ! ! 1. [FreeHelp] Check out The SeaMonkey® Project
    2. _Click here: The SeaMonkey® Project_ (http://www.seamonkey-project.org/) Carol, I use Sea Monkey. It replaces the Netscape composer. I find it works just like Netscape and it's a free download. Yours, Eric Blocher

    3. Well, the old Netscape suit is now Seamonkey. A bit updated since the good ol' days but still around. http://www.seamonkey-project.org/ Then you have KompoZer http://kompozer.net/ Don't forget your old friend, Google https://www.google.com/search?client=windows&channel=fs&q=Free+web+editing+software&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8 I'm sure someone will tell you how to get to the one on Rootsweb Freepages. It's been so long I've forgotten how to get there. However, there is an exception with IE8, IE9 and IE10, and that is that the p3 div is positioned left against p2, whereas the other browsers appear to center the p3 div in the remaining space on the line. IE has a strict policy of defaulting alignments to the left, but the other browsers appear leave the p3 div to center itself. There is no easy resolution to the problem as IE10 will not respond to Conditional Comments, but I have come up with a solution that will render the same way in Firefox, Chrome/Safari, Opera and IE7 ~ IE10 :- http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~bristowe/test/panels.html and a means of adding additional divs:- http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~bristowe/test/panels-2.html Barry

You need to write to accounts@rootsweb.com and ask that your password be changed. Second, you don't say where/how you are trying to login. I was able to login to the Freepages File Manager, http://freepages.rootsweb.ancestry.com/fileman/ using the information you supplied, with no problem. Remember that your password is case sensitive. password, PASSWORD, and pasSwOrd are all different. Once you have obtained a new password for your account, if you are still having problems logging in, write to the list again telling us what FTP program you are using and someone will probably be able to give you specifics for that program. 3. Many thanks to the reader who quickly responded, suggesting I remove everything from the Doc Type statement except for the 'html'. I wasn't suspecting that because I'd read that nothing after the 'html' mattered. And also, because the Doc Type statement had been inserted by my WHYSIG editor. But sure enough, when I use NotePad to make that change, the panels position correctly for the current and recent versions of IE. There's still a minor difference in the "real" web pages between IE and the rest of the browsers. On the new version of my real page (I'll supply the URL if someone wants to seen it), Foxfire, Safari & Chrome show a slight strip of the background image between the left and right panels. Whereas IE abuts them without a separator strip of background between them. But I don't care about that, or can add borders to provide a separation. Thanks again to this group for sharing your wide and varied knowledge. I like to use divisions for layout, and classes for styling elements. The same class can then be used in different divisions. Tell the browser to float panel 2 to the left, i.e. #panel2 { width: 10%; float: left; } Pat Asher
