But 32 bit due old technology And yes it found network assets that XP kept losing. But an old HP scanner I had to use on a XP netbook so perhaps 8 will also allow the XP drivers And all I've read says you can indeed have a start/desktop like 7 New learning curve but at the special upgrade for recent Win 7 purchase seems good. And then I can decide on the future 64 bit machine Win 8 vs iMac. I am into some serious old photo editing and some of the blemish fixes require more memory than 32 bit provide.... I like my Favourites panel on the left without having to 'pin' it so am keeping IE8. :-) Roger AbA MS originally started their IE10 preview releases for Win 7, but apparently decided to optimize the browser for Win 8 and the latest previews were all designed around this new O/S. IE 10 on a PC with Windows 8 works just like any other version. The "Tiles" that one sees on the Start screen is only there for a touch screen or the clicking of a mouse on a no touch screen. You will NOT get these "Tiles" on a Windows 7 machine, when you install IE 10.. An IE10 preview for the Win 7 O/S is now available from - http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/internet-explorer/ie-10-release-preview This preview appears to be a stable release, as it installs over IE9. It implements a good range of the CSS3 properties that are currently being implemented in the other browsers, and though late to the party, the results are pleasing. The final release of IE10 for Win 7 is expected sometime in February 2013. Barry

Many, many thanks to Richard who contacted me off list, posed a few questions and triggered an idea which has resulted in my finding the address I used! :)) I still don't have a clue about the name I used, but thanks to the unsubscribe mail I sent to this list at the time, and which is still sitting in the Sent folder, I know the address! LOL I had tried it before but got it slightly wrong. -- Charani (UK) OPC for Walton, Ashcott, Shapwick, Greinton and Clutton, SOM http://wsom-opc.org.uk
