Restoring a site is not the same as claiming the site. Did you request a new password for it?

I have not been able to reset my password, and the only thing I can think of is that maybe the account was associated with an old email address. I emailed annerootsweb@gmail.com on March 15 but have not received a reply. Is this the correct address to ask for her help? Thanks! Jenny
Pat, Again, this is not the email address for my freepages acct. I tried going back to support, and no response. I'll try again, but this is really ridiculous. I have been uploading tiny gedcoms just to test how the 120 year rule is applied, and what syntax is needed for DEAT data to be recognized as deaths, and had no trouble deleting some of those. Maybe there was a glitch when you tried to delete - if you tried deleting a new tree. I cannot speak for the ported versions, Anne did just say this was to play with as far as uploads go. I am waiting until we can officially replace our original trees before updating mine. And hope the old URLs will work, it will be an SEO disaster if we cannot use the original URLs, for those of us with links to our trees around the web. And I totally agree we need the old basic tree information to appear on the tops of the pages of our trees, or a link to a tree home page that is not just the first letter of the alphabet like it stands now.
Pat, I have 4 separate GEDCOMS on the old site. Three have been ported to the new site and I can access all of them right now. I uploaded 2 gedcoms just to see if it worked. I tried to delete them but all I get as an error delete message on them. I did not use the same name for the new Gedcoms. I agree, I was thinking the same thing. There needs to be a way to put the name of the tree in the Title, as well as the tree owner, with a way to at least contact them. The original WorldConnect also had email addresses in an obfuscated image. One other thing is there was the ability to include a link at the top beside the title, where you could link it to your Freepages site. The current restored WC has all as above except the email address, which is fine because it does have the link to my Freepages which does include a Contact address. It would be great if the new one will have at least that much because over the year I've had hundreds of people contacting me about the people in my tree, which I was also regularly updating at least every few months. And while I do have an Ancestry tree also, the WorldConnect one is on a free site which was easily found in searches and visitors don't need an account to do so. Last of all, since I understand that the plan is to delete all of the trees on the old WorldConnect once they are moved over to the new site, I think that more people need to take the time to get to testing out that Beta site themselves and to give suggestions about how it's working for you, or changes that may be needed. I recently was able to restart my freepages site, coynegen.com. The link to my family tree on World Connect works fine. Last updated 2015-07-08.
