    3. Good thing is to use Ancestry Academy using FileZilla you have to google this video. It is part of ancestry.com called. rootsweb Help video. Taught me there were more than one version of FileZilla which is new to me as I favour Cuteftp. 3. I have two problems that can't be resolved using the helpful and well done documentation provided by Pat's link below. 1)  I have two Rootsweb websites. One is a homepage and the second is a freepage at http://freepages.rootsweb.com/~mollers/genealogy/    They both would have had the same email address if an email address was used to create my freepages site.    I was able to successfully change the password, authenticate and connect to my homepage site using WinSCP.     But the password does not work for my freepages site.   I also created a WorldConnect Beta account.   Under "Hosted Sites" I see only the homepages site listed. 2) I have 4 different WorldConnect trees.    The four are online.  But listed under my WorldConnect Beta account,  "World Connect Trees" only 3 are listed.   Not listed is my largest tree.   As I can recreate this site, I would eventually need to have the site deleted if it's an orphan, or have it added to my account at https://useraccount.rootsweb.com/useraccount/ <https://useraccount.rootsweb.com/useraccount/useraccount> For both my freepages site and the World Connect tree I can't access, my email address is listed and is the same one that was used for the homepages site and trees that I can access. I have emailed Rootsweb support and annerootsweb@gmail.com but didn't receive a response.  At some time in the future will there be a mechanism to resolve the inability to access World Connect trees and Hosted Sites? Thanks, Bonnie On 4/14/2019 11:03 AM, Patricia Geary wrote: > http://sites.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/rootsweb-hosted-web-sites.html > > First is request a new password. > > Password rules: Passwords must be between 10 and 32 characters long, and > must contain at least one uppercase letter, one lower case letter, one > number, and one of the following special characters: _ ! @ # ( ) Asterisk > (*) and ampersand (&) are NOT accepted characters. > > Then follow the instructions included at the above link > > Pat G. > > -----Original Message----- > From: Jacqui via FREEPAGES-HELP [mailto:freepages-help@rootsweb.com] > Sent: Sunday, April 14, 2019 11:36 AM > To: freepages-help@rootsweb.com > Cc: Jacqui <jacquifreke@yahoo.co.uk> > Subject: [FreeHelp]How do I update my reinstaed webpages > > Hi, > > I see my webpages are back on line but are in serious need of an update. > My FTP connection no longer works. That means you can use Kompozer to edit your pages, but you will need a stand-alone FTP utility to transfer your pages, as well as being sure you have updated the password for your Freepages site to comply with the new password rules. See Pat Geary's <http://sites.rootsweb.com/~gearyfamily/rootsweb-hosted-web-sites.html> for those basic instructions. She also has instructions for setting up Filezilla to FTP to your Freepages account. Filezilla is a free FTP client, and easy to use. Pat Asher

I have been trying for about 5 hours to get into my Freepages website.  I use Kompozer in the past to edit and publish my website.  I have not been able to for some time, as all the Freepages sites were removed for that period of time etc.  I have changed my password and every possible combination of my website name and changing ftp server to sftp.  Still can't get it and I am ready to pull my hair out!!!! Is Kompozer still compatible with changes made to Freepages?  Also please do not just send me a link of "how to" get in, because in the 5 hours i have been sitting here I have read them all.  I CANNOT GET IN!!!!  I need a simple breakdown and walkthrough as if I was a preschooler, literally.  At this point I am almost ready to give up and not be able to edit my website anymore because this is getting too complicated and overwhelming. Have you logged in since our sites came back up, or is this the first time you tried? FileManager is no longer available, and all pages must be revised offline and then uploaded via SFTP. And you will need to set up a new password to use for sftp.
