Bill, I think your new address is http://sites.rootsweb.com/~coxheadfamilydata/ (Is that right Pat?) But did you send the form to request it be restored? The link to the form is at: http://rootsweb.blog/2018/07/19/getting-into-the-new-version-of-your-hosted-web-site/ Start there. Be patient-- to restore might take some time. Staff is working on it every day. Sign up for updates to the blog. Judy
Can someone please help. I've been trying for the past 2 years trying to find my pages. I know they were taken out . now I noted that some are back. Can some please explain how to find hem I'm an old timer and not very savvy with directions, so please make it easy for me My pages used to be at this address: freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/¬coxheadfamilydata/ Many thanks William / Bill
I've tried the password reset numerous times over several days with the two most likely email addresses that I used to set up the site. Of course, I created it a long time ago and I just don't remember. I've also verified that the reset emails did not go into the spam folder. My site is up. http://sites.rootsweb.com/~lnoll/ +Les
Thank you so much Pat. Alas I am now 80 years old and have completely forgotten how to do that; but I will have a go at it. Thanks again. I really appreciate your help. Jean, your site is back up http://sites.rootsweb.com/~jeanmccarthy36/ But your links need to be fixed. The Enter Here link is currently pointing to http://rootsweb.com/~jeanmccarthy36/index2.html and needs to be changed to point to index2.html The same is true for the links on your leftside frame once you enter the site. Yeah, when RW gets going better, I can try uploading my problem pages. Overall, it's going semi-okay.... just some problems... and an overwhelming number of pages to do. I did find that a style got moved to after the closing html in about 35 pages. Unsure if that caused the issues, or how it popped up down there.
I took care of it for you. You can now request a password change for your new email. Hosted websites that were up before the weekend, are now back up and you should be able to connect. We are still working on adding more. Anne
Judy, FP was not designed to work with CSS so you will always have display issues in Design mode. As long as your page displays as it should in the browser, you should be OK. In the last 2 months my email has been changed. When I try to reset my password, I assume the reset message goes to my old email [email protected], not my new [email protected] Anyone able to change it? Jack McNees, ..../~mcneesfamily
Judy, With the usual proviso, i.e. I can't see what you can... I suggest you check for any CSS that's setting the page width, or any img width that could force the page wider. p.clear {...... clear: both; .....} Using Frontage2000, and a folder of _includes for repeatable items, like header or banner... example: WW2 picture floated left. banner text beside it.. h2 text this text Why does the content ride up into the header, even with using p class clear after the _includes/header.html ? Do I need to use p class clear inside the include after the banner? Or just on the page? Second, after the h2 phase, I put content. On these pages, I have 1 or 2 images stacked and with float left. I can't get #2 image to stay under #1 image. I can't get links under #2 image to stay put under the image level. Third, very weird issue.... Barry set the page width and I never changed it. Sometimes, in Normal View, my page looks like 4x the actual width. When I switch to Preview, it sorta reigns itself in. Any idea why Fp makes a CSS controlled page look 4x wider? Judy
Thank you Barry. I'll wait until later. Jeff, Try in your browser - https://sites.rootsweb.com/~ormandy ... you will find the server is not currently accepting connections, and the page generated is being produced by the server. Powered by "Incapsula" is an Ancestry alias. Suggest you will need to wait until later on Monday EDT to PDT Barry On 23/07/2018 14:51, Jeff Jones wrote: > Hello. Hello. After a break of a couple of days I have tried again to use Filezilla to FTP to my restored freepages site. I am using Filezilla with sftp://sitesuser.rootsweb.com, my username (which was confirmed when I reset my password) and my new password. I am getting the error message: Error: Network error: Software caused connection abort Error: Could not connect to server I suppose I am making a simple error. My username is ormandy. What can I do? Regards, Jeff Jones
