Yvonne, are you referring to MY PROFILE for your Ancestry.com account? That has nothing to do with your RootsWeb hosted sites. Your account name/userid for your HOSTED website is the account name that appears in the URL when you access the site. If your site appears at sites.rootsweb.com/~yvonne then your accountname/userid is "yvonne" without the quotes. >Is the error above a function of something I am >doing wrong? 3. Hi Anne, I’m still struggling. I did not send in a request to have my sites restored and I got no notification from Rootsweb at all. I just tested my sites and they were up. So now I’m trying to access them through FileZilla and am getting the following error: Error: Disconnected: No supported authentication methods available (server sent: publickey,gssapi-keyex,gssapi-with-mic) Error: Could not connect to server I have repeatedly changed my password and it’s now a 13 character PW as instructed. My sites were under ~yvonne but my username is ybowers so I’m not sure which one to use. I requested a password change from Rootsweb thinking maybe that link might work better than just changing it on my profile. I never received an email at my registered email address but the link said if I didn’t received an email after 15 minutes just go ahead and change it so I did. Is the error above a function of something I am doing wrong? Do I need to request anything from Rootsweb directly? Do you see me up and active under either ~yvonne or ybowers? One of my websites is http://sites.rootsweb.com/~yvonne/norcallib.html <http://sites.rootsweb.com/~yvonne/norcallib.html>. Someone mentioned webring. That goes back years (decades?) but I can’t get rid of it until I can access my pages to update. Thanks! Y. 3. Hi Pat, The missing period is between useraccount and rootsweb.com It is in the URL that Roots sends out to us after we have requested a password change and have replied with our Email address. Then Roots sends out a very, super long URL, with the missing period, so we can click on the URL and go to the webpage where we enter our new password and its repeat. 3. Pat, here is email I received back from Rootsweb this morning when I requested to change my password. I am not showing the completed link as on the part in red is incorrect. If you did not make this request, you may safely ignore this message. 3. As has been said repeatedly on the Rootsweb-Help List, RW is currently working out the URL structure for all the other sites under freepages. Techs weren't aware how vast our sites were, with 9 or more possible "categories / directories" within 1 ~accountname. Just give them more time to figure it all out. Several of us provided the category titles (genealogy; history; family; religions; etc etc) so they'll find all the sites.
