Following on from a thread in FreeBMD-Discuss There are 2 excellent utilities available to enable Syndicate co-ordinators to build their own page ranges. Jeremy Hakes updated Susan Harker's page checking program and it now has the facility to check multiple files and produce a page number error report for pages out of range or districts unknown. The error report is only generated for multiple files but you can simply check one file with the multiple file facility! If using the multiple file facility, it will also update the page range on request. He also produced a page range generator [virtually overnight!] that takes a number of files for a quarter [ideally about 35000 records] and produces a draft page range. This can then be used in conjunction with the page checking program. As a test, I ran the page range builder with 34 files of 750 records and then ran them through the page checking program to produce the error report. 15 minutes to get the draft page range and 7 to get the error report.
