    3. Sorry Garry, but there is a deeper problem. I have always had all graphics files including TIF and TIFF associated with Irfanview in File Types. Downloads from the existing Scan Source site have always opened opened with no problems. It's just the new procedure which sends the downloaded file directly to Internet Explorer that causes problems as there is no step to save the downloading file to a folder. I gather from correspondance here and on Soc.genealogy.britain that I'm not the only one experiancing this diffilulty. I'm happy to wait until Dave and his team resolve the situation in their own time. Maybe XP SP2 will resolve these problems when it eventually arrives ? 3. Hi Ted, I also have problems using XP Pro and I can't open the scans in the manner you describe either. You can however definitely download the scans to disc by right-clicking on the page link and selecting "Save Target As". It is also possible to open them 'on screen' but only by using a different scan viewer - there's one called "Alternatiff" which can add it's own toolbar to IE and when you click on a tiff in IE the new viewer opens and displays it - it's not as good as Irfan though (it only has 90 degree rotates and 1 level of zoom) but it works fine for me.
