    3. I am a bit puzzled by Mary's comment. Using http://images.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/choose.pl in WinXP and looking for an image, when I eventually click on the page I want and 'submit query' I get a dialogue box ' headed 'File Download' and offering buttons for 'Open', Save', Cancel', 'More Info' which is a standard IE6 dialogue box. Is this just because I have been downloading images using the transcriber route already today? Doesn't everybody get this? No. It depends on service packs, patches etc. We are working on the solution. -- Dave Mayall

    3. Hi Jeff > Doesn't everybody get this? No You must be using a later version of WinXP where the problem does not exist. I am using a version where it does exist. I do *not* get the dialogue box you describe. This is the bug and full details are available in Microsoft Knowledge Base Article 319829 "Cannot Open a Tagged Information File Format (TIFF) File in Internet Explorer" on the http://support.microsoft.com/ site HTH Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jeff Coleman" <[email protected]> To: "Mary Trevan" <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, June 29, 2004 11:14 PM Subject: Re: How to View TIF/TIFF files in XP > I am a bit puzzled by Mary's comment. > > Using http://images.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/choose.pl in WinXP and looking for > an image, when I eventually click on the page I want and 'submit query' I > get a dialogue box ' headed 'File Download' and offering buttons for 'Open', > Save', Cancel', 'More Info' which is a standard IE6 dialogue box. > > Is this just because I have been downloading images using the transcriber > route already today? > > Doesn't everybody get this? > > Jeff > > The new route available to the general public which uses page > > http://images.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/choose.pl does *not* provide any way of > > downloading the image. > > > > > --- > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com). > Version: 6.0.712 / Virus Database: 468 - Release Date: 27/06/2004 >
