I may have detected a pattern of upload problems, three of my transcribers have reported a common problem, each is getting a message that says "Error in upload, file not sent, User ID is not known." The one common feature is that they all have AOL as their ISP Or am I barking up the wrong tree? Kind regards to you all John
John, It seems unlikely but I've seen so many problems with AOL that I'm ready to believe anything bad about it. The message seems too specific though and I would have thought that if AOL was in someway blocking the ID then they could only do it by blocking everything and a different message would result. When WinBMD uploads a file it always creates a text file called Uploadlog.txt in the WinBMD folder (ie normally C:\Program Files\WinBMD\Uploadlog.txt) where it records everything that happens during the upload. If you get the user(s) to send me that file then I will happily check it out.
