Fellow Coordinators, a while back I announced the latest version of of our syndicate's trancribed page checking program, which was received well by those few who use it. In order to encourage it's wider use we have now come up with a new version, mainly for coordinator use, which has an option to check multiple files and then produce an error report. Very useful if you are checking large numbers of your transcribers' files. A useful update is that the program checks the volume when an ambiguous districts such as Wellington, Newcastle, Newport etc crop up. Also importantly, this version is 12 times faster than the previous version. Of course, to use the program you need to have a page range for the quarter you are working on. Many of you haven't the time to bother with producing page ranges, so now we have come up with RangeBuilder, an Excel based program that will build an accurate range from a set of transcribed files. It will accept up to 65,000 entries and will turn out an accurate page range within 5 to 20 minutes.
