    1. Multiple entry correction - how should it be handled

    3. Hello Help !! One of my transcribers sent this and I would like some advice as to how it should be handled please. I've got a nice one on 1936B1-W-B499, second column. The surname "Wyard" has been 'ditto-ed' 46 times, but then the first ditto has been crossed out and the surname "Wyatt" has been written in by hand. There are also small hand-written ditto marks under the hand-written 'Wyatt' name. I feel there is no doubt that the 46 entries should by Wyatt and not Wyard. I have placed a comment thus: COMMENT(46) "DITTO" MARK FOR SURNAME IS CROSSED OUT AND REPLACED BY "WYATT" This is factually correct but perhaps not helpful for potential users and I think it would probably be better to simply type WYATT for the surname. Any suggestions please? What about changing my comment to. COMMENT(46) SURNAME ORIGINALLY SHOWN AS WYARD Cheers Sue Coordinator of The Recordsmiths Syndicate of volunteer transcribers working for FreeBMD.
