    3. The attachment was stripped off my first message on this subject, so here it is in-line: As part of the ongoing Quality Assurance programme for FreeBMD we analyse all transcription files for potential errors. One of these potential errors is the transcription of entries containing aliases as a single entry, whereas, as described in http://www.freebmd.org.uk/vol_faq.html#6u, they need to be transcribed as two entries with a comment covering both. Files that you have transcribed have been identified as potentially having such errors. Please would you check http://www.freebmd.org.uk/SuspectFilesAlias.html, scrolling down to your transcriber id, for the files that have been identified. If the files have been identified incorrectly (i.e. the potential alias entry/entries are not actually aliases) please let me know and I will get the file(s) removed from the listing. For files that have been correctly identified please may we request that you make the necessary amendments and upload the amended file. Where there are a large number of files involved we appreciate that it might take some time to implement the amendments and in such cases we are happy for the amendments to be made over a period of time. If for any reason you do not wish to make the amendments necessary please contact me and I will arrange for the amendments to be made for you. Thanking you in anticipation for your co-operation in this excercise Barrie Archer FreeBMD Quality Assurance Coordinator This is the email message that will be sent to transcribers with more than 5 entries in the Suspect Files Alias listing unless syndicates opt out by contacting me. 3. The problem files for the Ian Brooke syndicate are from 1910 marriages. The problem arises because there are later hand written entries which include alternate name for the spouse. Generally the index for 1910 marriages does not include the name of the spouse. I have asked several times what to do with these files - and never had an answer. They pages are 1910M3R0774 1910M3S0831 1910M4B0136 Christopher Richards Barrie wrote: > The attachment was stripped off my first message on this subject, so > here it is in-line: > > As part of the ongoing Quality Assurance programme for FreeBMD we > analyse all transcription files for potential errors.
