    3. Open the file in Wordpad and then save it. This will convert the Unix end of line (LF) to Windows end of line (CR/LF) and you will then be able to open the file in WinBMD. Wordpad is a standard utility on Windows. To run it go to Start/Run and type wordpad. Barrie P.S. There are basically three operating systems in use (Windows, MacOS and Unixes) and they each use a different end of line convention. Given that there are only three possible ways to do end of line (with the characters CR and LF), one could consider this something of an achievement for the computer industry! > A new recruit to my Syndicate, quite promising in all other respects, has a computer operating with Linux (whatever that may be) and is using "LinBMD" for transcribing. 3. Hello Barrie, WordPad is also very capable of adding other formatting that make the file completely useless. The only safe way is to use Notepad.
