Hi To keep you posted on a recent initiative. Some of the early Syndicates transcribed from their own source such as fiche and before the corresponding scans became available on FreeBMD. The result is that there are inconsistencies between the information shown on the Syndicate Allocation page (at: http://www.freebmd.org.uk/cgi/bmd-synd.pl ) and the Scan Allocation Pages (via http://www.freebmd.org.uk/scan-source2.shtml ). Whilst all allocations are shown on the Syndicate Allocation page they are not necessarily shown on the Scan Allocation Pages if transcription were via the Syndicates own source. To remove this inconsistency all allocations given to Syndicates are being added to the Scan Allocation Pages even if transcriptions were via own source. At the same time recently uploaded ANC (Ancestry supplied scan) are being added to the Scan Allocation Pages, in some instances for administration purposes they are shown as third keying. It will take a couple of weeks to complete this exercise (I'm currently up to year 1872), in the meantime if any Coordinator spots an error in the Scan Allocation Pages can they please let me know off list to enable me to correct it.
