    3. Hi Richard My preference would be to switch to FreeReg as I long ago completed researching all of the BMD entries for my family and surname. However as most of both my family and my surname resided in Devon I know that I will be on a hiding to nothing. Getting permission to publish any data for Devon is a nightmare and I have tried without success many times. Maybe the weight of FreeBMD/REG may eventually persuade the relevant people to allow us to publish. Having said that, I also have ancestors in Ireland whom I have never been able to trace.
