Hi all (particurlarly Kevin Howells) Has there been a hold up with uploading Free BMD corrections? As I help people doing look ups on a few websites I often have occasion to submit corrections. Usually I get an email when they have been updated,but have heard nothing for the past two months. Regards Carol

Kevin is best placed to answer queries regarding any specific correction request but on the general question there is no problem per se in the uploading of entries as a result of a correction requests. It really is only down to how fast the transcriber or their coordinator can amend the file containing the entry which was the subject of the correction request. Follow up requests are sent by Kevin to the transcriber or their coordinator if the corrections have not been completed within a certain period of time. This assumes the transcriber or coordinator is willing or still active to deal with the correction request, otherwise alternative arrangements have to be implemented by Kevin to upload any corrected entries. Obviously if your correction requests have not been uploaded to FreeBMD then Kevin wont be in a position to send you the update report email. Also any correction requests which have been uploaded are not visible on FreeBMD until after the following monthly database update. If you have details of the corrections which you sent to FreeBMD you can carry out a search of our database to see if the correction request has been implemented?
