I have a newcomer on my team who is finding it impossible to instal WinBMD, for whatever reason. I quote: "I have found the WinBMD programme installed on my C drive. It is 505kb. It says I installed it on 10th August which would be right. But when I click on it, it simply asks me if I want to install it ???? I have tried re-installing it and at the same time disabling the Norton security system as I read in the instructions that some computers need to do this. But it didn't make any difference. Is this any help ---- the "properties" drop down menu on the WinBMD programme says "if you have problems with this programme and it worked correctly on an earlier version of Windows, select the compatability mode that matches that earlier version". Can anybody help this puzzled (would-be) transcriber? Richard Oliver Syndicate Co-ordinator Madrid, Spain r.oliver@arrakis.es
Hi Richard I expect I'm wrong (covering my tracks) but it sounds like he is looking at the installer program. Try suggesting that the would-be transcriber follow the installation instructions and not to guess how to install it. good luck Bob Phillips ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard Oliver" <richol@arrakis.es> To: <FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, August 11, 2005 8:24 PM Subject: Beginner teething troubles > I have a newcomer on my team who is finding it impossible to instal WinBMD, for whatever reason.
