I am a user of both Ancestry and FreeBMD. Thank you all for your excellent work. Please do not be alarmed about the appearance of GRO indexes on the Ancestry page. Your search facilities are better than theose offered from Ancestry. FreeBMD searches permit the searcher to specify District or a County. This is not the case with Ancestry. FreeBMD results are filtered and only relevant options are given. The Ancestry results only point the searcher to the GRO pages. If you do not know the year (or sometimes the decade) you have to trawl through four page per year. Who wants to do this when a search engine can do it for you. Ancestry is fine for Census data but you beat then hands down for BMD Keep up the good work. A very happy user of FreeBMD
